About the event 

Working at the confluence of technology and sustainability, DIMPACT equips industry changemakers and policymakers with trusted data, peer collaboration, and impactful insights for informed decision-making.

We are gathering with fellow participants, sustainability professionals and guest speakers in London on 5th March to explore the latest thinking on digital emissions and connect with peers shaping the future of sustainable technology.

Andri Johnston

Andri Johnston has worked across trade, education and academic publishing in the digital space for over 10 years. Her personal passion for sustainability finally connected with her day job when she discovered Digital Sustainability.

She and her team do product level carbon emissions reporting using the DIMPACT tool, and train teams on implementing digital sustainability guidelines in product development. She is leading the business on visualising Scope 3 technology emissions targets and understand the wider sustainability impact of Gen AI in the education and publishing space. She's passionate about creating open conversations and learning spaces around digital sustainability in the publishing and media industry.

Boris Gamazaychikov
Head of AI Sustainability
Salesforce 

Boris Gamazaychikov is Head of AI Sustainability at Salesforce, where he leads global efforts to align AI with climate action. Recognized by The Independent’s Climate 100 and Business Insider’s AI Trailblazers, he is a prominent voice at the intersection of technology and sustainability. At Salesforce, he drives initiatives to reduce the environmental footprint of AI products while advancing industry-wide solutions, most notably launching the AI Energy Score, the first standardized benchmark for measuring AI model energy use.

With over a decade of experience tackling complex environmental challenges, Boris is also a frequent speaker and board advisor. He holds a degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Maryland and continues to bridge engineering, climate science, and AI to accelerate the transition to a sustainable future.

Daniel Schien
Associate Professor in Computer Science
University of Bristol

Daniel Schien leads research in the Sustainable Computing Group at the University of Bristol, focusing on how to measure and reduce the environmental impacts of digital technologies, from AI and digital media to IoT and communication networks. His work advances environmental assessment of ICT through a systemic, long-term perspective that considers not only efficiency at the level of chips, models, and networks, but also rebound and indirect effects, infrastructure lock-in, and the organisational and policy drivers that shape impacts at scale.

He collaborates across disciplines, working with colleagues in environmental science, human–computer interaction (including the Bristol Interaction Group), software engineering, communications and electrical engineering, and policy and social science. A central priority of his research is translating evidence into practice through tools and guidance for organisations, including DIMPACT.

Leading on the techUK programme's nature and biodiversity work, Elizabeth also keeps members informed of policy and regulatory developments across the circular economy, corporate sustainability disclosures, chemicals and minerals, human rights, and the overall international climate policy landscape.

Elisabeth’s professional background spans public affairs and policy roles in both trade bodies and consultancy, with a focus on sustainability and resilience across the digital and infrastructure sectors. She holds a Master’s degree in International Social and Public Policy from the London School of Economics, where her dissertation examined government policy responses to the climate crisis in the South Pacific.

Mafalda Dâmaso
Professor
European University Institute 

Mafalda Dâmaso is Part-time Professor at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies of the European University Institute, where she serves as work package leader in two Horizon Europe projects: StreamSCAPES, which examines how the cultural and creative industries can support the sustainable climate transition, with a particular emphasis on video-on-demand platforms, and ANIMA MUNDI, which looks at the geopolitical potential of the European animation industry ecosystem.

Her research interests include cultural and audiovisual policy, cultural diplomacy and relations, the geopolitics of culture, and culture in sustainable development. Her work focuses primarily on the European Union and its external action. It has been cited in documents by and for the European Parliament, the European Council, and the European Commission.

Thomas O'Brien
Carbon Calculator Coordinator

Tom is the Carbon Calculator Coordinator at AdGreen, empowering the advertising industry to measure and reduce production-related carbon emissions.

His passion for driving positive sustainable change began at Imperial College London, where he completed a Master's in Green Chemistry. Partnered with a lifelong love for film and independent film production, implementing sustainable practice in filmmaking was a natural amalgamation. Prior to AdGreen, Tom worked at Outsider production company as the sustainability lead, implementing sustainable practices on set and regularly using the AdGreen tool to measure impact. 


Tim Davis

Tim Davis
Principal Architect, EA|Technology

Over the last decade, Tim has been Principal Enterprise Architect at ITV, sitting in between the various parts of the media supply chain - production, broadcast, streaming and distribution.  Tim helps business and technology leaders to understand the potential and pitfalls of technology change, with particular focus on disciplines including technology transformation, innovation, skills and sustainability. 

In 2024, he helped guide the ECOFLOW project, one of the world’s stand-out initiatives focused on making TV streaming more sustainable, leading the workstream on Education, and providing perspective on the challenges that we face as an industry, and is keen to keep up the momentum into 2026 and beyond.

For the last decades, Glynn has been working closely with his clients to distil practical value-led strategies to address complex technical issues. He has strong environmental experience; pushing the agenda and helping to strengthen companies’ approaches to water stewardship, energy management and climate change.

He is also an expert in organisational performance management and reporting, advising a range of clients from global manufacturers to leading UK retail brands.
